"He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour."
Psalm 15:2-3
I miss being in Mongolia during election season because in Asia I was far from the political chicanery and malicious messaging that bombard us almost daily. Advertisements in the mail, pre-roll videos on websites, a constant stream of articles in the news—all these remind me that we are in the middle of election season.
It is not the elections or even electioneering that informs that I detest. We need information to be able to vote wisely, and advertisements and articles are a part of that. However, much of what I see is ill-disguised envy, latent bitterness, and pretentious lies. Truth is hard to find. Everywhere lies abound. What should a Christian do? Find trusted sources and obtain information from them directly. Be informed, and vote. And most of all, do not give up hope.
Pastor Scott Dean
God has been very good to us. We have a tendency to focus on the negative and notice all the things that we lack rather than to see all the gifts that God has given us.
When we experience the vanity that is life without God, do we return to the God who loves us?
Rest comes from rejecting responsibilities that God does not intend for us and accepting God's yoke for us.
The answer to America's social ills is God's grace and Christian love.
