"And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest."
Matthew 21:9
This Sunday is known as Palm Sunday. On the Sunday before Jesus was crucified, He entered the city seated on a colt. His disciples spread their cloaks over the animal for a saddle. A huge number of people were in Jerusalem and its environs preparing for Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Many of them lined the route that Jesus took. They spread their cloaks on the road before Jesus and cut down tree branches to place them in His path. It looked like Jesus had won.
Then less than a week later, a group of Jews are not satisfied that Jesus had been beaten, whipped, and mocked.
With blood pouring down His face from the cruel crown of thorns pressed down on His head, another crowd of people screamed, "Crucify Him! Crucify Him!" Not content to call for His simple execution, they wanted Jesus to die in the most horrific method possible. Through it all Jesus remained calm. His face was set like granite. The Good Shepherd was ready to give His life for the people.

God has been very good to us. We have a tendency to focus on the negative and notice all the things that we lack rather than to see all the gifts that God has given us.
When we experience the vanity that is life without God, do we return to the God who loves us?
Rest comes from rejecting responsibilities that God does not intend for us and accepting God's yoke for us.
The answer to America's social ills is God's grace and Christian love.
