"So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work."
Nehemiah 4:6
The primary reason that the citizens of Jerusalem finished the wall so quickly was that they decided to whole-heartedly work to accomplish a task together that no smaller group could accomplish alone. Similarly, the many visitors that we had on Sunday are a testimony to the sincere willingness of Elmira Baptist Church to work to accomplish a task no individual or family could achieve alone. Many visitors, much music, setting up and taking down—all of this went so smoothly because we had so much help.
Additionally, most of you were involved in praying for Resurrection Day. Around the clock for the week before, people stayed up late, got up early, and adjusted their schedule to spend time in prayer. Some spent hours in prayer over the course of the week. Prayer matters! Thank you for praying. Most of you invited at least one person to come or left invitations at people's doors inviting them to come. We had at least three visitors from the invitations that we left.

God has been very good to us. We have a tendency to focus on the negative and notice all the things that we lack rather than to see all the gifts that God has given us.
When we experience the vanity that is life without God, do we return to the God who loves us?
Rest comes from rejecting responsibilities that God does not intend for us and accepting God's yoke for us.
The answer to America's social ills is God's grace and Christian love.
