"Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. "
Proverbs 4:7
How has your start to the 31 Days of Proverbs been? Already I have heard good reports from those who have benefitted from the reading and study of Proverbs. By now you have read six or seven chapters. If you missed a day or more, do not be discouraged and give up. Pick up reading Proverbs today with chapter 7.
Notice the importance of wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and instruction. Just as we would not go without food and water for days at a time, we ought not to go without the wisdom that we find in God's word. Even though I ate yesterday, I will eat again today and tomorrow and, barring fasting, will eat every day of my life. Similarly, although I read God's word yesterday, I will read God's word again today, tomorrow, and every remaining day of my life that I am conscious. Bible reading, study, and meditation is a life habit that we cultivate. The benefits of these habits are wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and instruction all of which we need for successful living.
Pastor Scott Dean
God has been very good to us. We have a tendency to focus on the negative and notice all the things that we lack rather than to see all the gifts that God has given us.
When we experience the vanity that is life without God, do we return to the God who loves us?
Rest comes from rejecting responsibilities that God does not intend for us and accepting God's yoke for us.
The answer to America's social ills is God's grace and Christian love.
